Top five services garages should offer

Offering the services that drivers want and need most is key to running a successful auto repair business. According to FixMyCar’s data from the last 12 months*, these are the top services drivers request quotes for.
  1. MOT - £45.28 average quote
  2. Full service - £207.66 average quote
  3. Clutch replacement - £660.79 average quote
  4. Cambelt and water pump - £509.70 average quote
  5. Full service and MOT - £238.01 average quote
While these jobs may not be the highest revenue drivers for your business, they will likely be the most frequent and consistent jobs you work on.

Focusing specifically on repair categories, the top five jobs are:
  1. Clutch replacement
  2. Cambelt and water pump
  3. Brake pads and discs
  4. Alternator
  5. Timing chain
Our data shows that drivers are more likely to compare options when facing a costly repair bill. But price isn’t the only thing that influences their decision-making.

71% of jobs are confirmed by drivers within 24 hours of posting, and 89% are confirmed in the first hour. Garages that quickly respond to quote requests are more likely to win work.

There are several other ways you can help your garage stand out:
  1. Switch AutoQuotes on
  2. Offer additional services such as collection and delivery
  3. Provide detailed quotes
  4. Focus on good communication
