How can I manage the volume of jobs I apply for?

Everyone wants to win work but it’s important not to overload yourself with too much. Equally, there will be times when you want to adjust your workload accordingly if you’re currently quiet or very busy. The website settings can be useful for helping you to adapt workflow to your current needs. We offer you two ways to manage the volume of jobs:

1. Operating hours and the Online Booking Calendar

The simplest way to manage your workload is by managing your Online Booking Calendar.
  1. Increase or decrease your lead time to suit your needs depending on how busy you are, this helps you dictate your availability to potential customers to times that suit you.
  1. By increasing or decreasing the number of booking slots you have available each day, you limit the number of bookings that can be made on any given day so you can spread your workload.
  1. Block out days entirely if you are at full capacity. This means you won’t receive any bookings on these days but can still quote on and win jobs for once the busy period is over.

2. Refine your selected services.

If you’re looking to pick up more work, check your services there may be some you had unticked in the past when you were busier that you can add back in.
On the other hand, if you’re very busy you may want to restrict your services temporarily so you’re only focusing on key services. If you’re already busy it makes sense to cut out services that aren’t a main priority and focus on those that are with what limited time you have. You can always add these back in later once your diary clears up.
