What does a customer see when they receive a Smartquote?

For all intents and purposes, when a customer receives a Smartquote it looks largely the same as any other quote on the site.

It is labelled as a Smartquote so it’s highlighted to the customer, but the major difference is in the wording of the quote;

“Dear (Driver name)
Thank you for your enquiry on FixMyCar We are (Garage/mechanic name) and serve the area around (area). We would be happy to provide you an estimate and details are as follows:

Head Gasket: The price including all parts, labour and VAT where applicable will be PRICE. This SmartQuote is for a Head Gasket only. Note that any additional work is not included in the quote.

SmartQuotes are a good indication of what a garage will charge for this job based on their history of quotes for matching vehicles and services. Please confirm the price with your mechanic before you commence work, as prices may change.

Once again, thank you for your enquiry and we look forward to arranging an appointment at your earliest convenience.
Please contact us should you have any questions.
Best wishes,
(Garage/mechanic name)”

As you can see, the system pulls in key information as it would on other quotes, but it clearly highlights that the driver should confirm any details with the garage/mechanic before proceeding.
  1. Also, like other quoting features, you can customise the header and footer sections of the message template in the Smartquote management page. (Go to Autoquotes – Smartquotes and settings).
  2. This allows you to add in any additional information or content you may wish to add.
  3. Finally, if you update a price, the customer will also receive an additional message explaining that the price has been updated or confirmed.
