Free SEO Tools You Need

Free SEO Tools You Need

SEO tools are notoriously expensive, and gaining insights from them can be tricky unless you use them daily. However, there are four free tools that everyone should use. You'll reap the rewards even if you set them up and don’t use them again for a few months.

Google Analytics

The first tool is Google Analytics. Once you install Google Analytics on your site, you can see how many people are visiting, what pages they’re looking at, how long they stay for and how they found it.

This will be an invaluable source of information about your site and your users, so if you haven’t got it already, sign up and install it. The sooner you have this, the sooner you can start collecting data.

Google Search Console

Search Console is the tool that Google uses to send you messages about how your site is performing in the search engine. It will tell you if there are any crawl/index issues, page speed issues or general usability issues with your site.

You’ll also see which keywords and phrases people have searched for to see your site in the search results. This is another source of valuable information as it highlights what the site is being found for and where it currently ranks for those phrases.

Google Business Listing

If you’ve ever searched for a local business, you’ve more than likely seen a box on the right-hand side of the search results dedicated to that business. It tells you their address, phone number, website address, opening hours, review rating and more.

In Google, this is called a Google Business Listing. It’s a free tool that local business owners can use to give their users quick access to vital information about the business.

The more you populate this profile, the better. Still, by just filling out the basics, you’ll get your free business listing to appear whenever someone searches for your business name.

Bing Places

You can create a free Bing Places listing once you’ve created a Google Business Listing. This is almost identical to the Google version but only visible on Bing Search.

Bing can sync up with your Google Business Listing to display the same information in their search engine. When you update your Google Business Listing, your Bing Places listing will automatically update, so you don’t have to make the same changes twice.
